| SUNFLOWER : |
Not Yet . . . . April Ok, I lied. but why sunflowers, I mean you can't eat them can't you, I think I bought them because they were called 'Annuus' which amused me for obvious reasons. |
March 23rd According to the internet (it never lies) you can start them off sandwiched between two damp sheets of kitchen paper, so I have. |
Just to be on the safe side I did my usual 'shove them in something that holds soil' routine, In this case two drink cartons. |
March 26th Well that worked then |
March 31st I planted eight seeds, guess how many survived . . all of them, now I'm stuffed. |
April 7 I turn my back and the little darling grows two more leaves. |
April 21 They've been outside now for a couple of weeks and have faired well, growth has slowed down a tadge but it's still not very warm outside yet. |
'Lunch time' If I could hear insects talk that's what they'd be saying every time I plant something outside, I'll swear they wait for me. |

April 5th
10 inches |
May 14
Now we're talking tall
here, they've shot up, now standing at 24 inches |
June 3 Reaching an incredible 53 inches the wet month of May seems to have done them a huge favour, hopefully the snails will get altitude sickness and give up.
June 4 Snails are bad enough but to be attacked by some sign writing little bug that works inside the leaf is going too far. |
June 28 Now peeking above the shed roof and standing at 86 inches tall (just under 7 foot) and there's a flower, just tucked away out of sight. |
