Project 1: Pot Frame |
|
|
 |
I've always been a bit envious of
those rather nice frames found at garden centres and never in a position to
afford them and so, in true 'Blue Peter' fashion . . . I made my own.
Materials required, bamboo canes, some
of the nice plastic covered garden wire and a pot of course. |
 |
|
 |
Now I do have to admit to using a
drill too, it just became too much bother trying to hold it together
with one hand and twisting wire with the other, about as much use as a one
armed window cleaner (with all due respect). when wired it took on the shape
of a tepee, far to tapering, it needed a waistline to bulk it out a bit and
so . . cross-members. |

 |
The end result was quite pleasing, a
little stark at the moment but once something takes a hold then it will fill
out nicely, after all, once it's covered who knows what's underneath. The
plant shown is a passion fruit, sadly not edible.
I now have the urge to make a really big
one, one day perhaps. |

August 5th:
Time to catch up, originally the idea was to plant sweet peas but I was told
it was too late at the time (Oh no it isn't) and so I bought this twig from
Woolworth's that claimed to be a passion fruit. As you can see it's
developing nicely, with luck it will start to grow along the wall and cover
it up. |
